Homemade Turkey Burgers on a Cauliflower Bun

These turkey burgers are quite tasty and yummy.
The coconut flour gives them a nice,
almost cheesy taste and the cauliflower buns
are surprisingly not crumbly and extremely simple and easy to make.  They are a great Paleo bun for the turkey burger.

Cauliflower Bun
Makes1

Ingredients: Cauliflower, almond flour, coconut flour, egg,
garlic powder, rosemary {or oregano}, and salt

Mix together:
1 cup grated raw cauliflower
1 Tbsp almond flour
1/2 Tbsp coconut flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 Tbsp rosemary {or oregano}
1/8 tsp salt

Shape into two circles onto a well oiled pan.
Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and then broil for 5 minutes or until golden.
Place onto a cooling rack or it will get mushy.

It may be best to remove them from the pan before broiling and
placing them straight onto the oven rack to crisp up both sides

Homemade Turkey Burgers
Makes 4 turkey patties

Ingredients: ground turkey, coconut flour, Dijon mustard, rosemary,
smoked paprika, Emerils, egg, salt, and black pepper

Mix together:
1/2 lb ground turkey
2 Tbsp coconut flour
1/2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 Tbsp rosemary
1 egg
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp Emerils
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Form into four patties and cook in an oiled skillet on medium to medium low until cooked through approx. 6-8 minutes on each side depending on thickness of patty.

Then place onto the cauliflower bun w/ other delicious toppings and enjoy!

Look you can even pick it up with out falling apart!

That looks delicious!! Out of curiousity, how much calories are in the cauliflower buns?

Thanks! Hmm Probably around 150 calories. If you want less then only use egg whites, but the yolk does have a lot of good nutrients in it :)
Is it possible to write down the calories on the recipes? :-) thanks
Hi Cindy, I already spend a lot of time on all this. It's just a hobby of mine and I actually don't count calories. I've done that before and it made food run my life. I just eat healthy/put good things into my body and try to not overeat/indulge and don't worry about the calories. However! it's probably pretty simple for you to figure out if you needed to:) Sorry about that!
I put all the ingredients into "my fitness pal" and it came out to be aprox. 237 calories... Hope that helps!
sounds wonderful!
To grate cauliflower can you put it in a food processor?! Would it be the same for the purposes of the recipe?!

Yes! It would :)
The easiest way to grate cauliflower is to put florets in a blender, fill with cold water and whirl a few seconds. Drain the water and Voila! Finely grated cauliflower :0)
This is awesome! I'm not always a bun fan but it's nice to have options.
What an interesting concept, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of fritters.
Tried the buns, and they came out perfectly! Thank you so much!

aw thanks for letting me know Carrie! I am SO happy they turned out well!!! :D!
Thank you so much for this recipe! The buns turned out great and they were a hit in my house with hubby and the kiddies. I am not a cauliflower fan but I like these:)
Made this tonight for dinner with a few sliced avocados, a few cherry tomatoes & a small spinach salad. IT IS SO DELICIOUS!!! WOW!!! I added some roasted garlic & 1/2 thyme 1/2 rosemary. Thank you for the recipe I'll most definitely be making this again!!!
I have been meaning to write for about a couple months now, since I have gone paleo. I just wanted to say thank you so very much for your recipes and your time and effort put into them. These cauliflower buns are my absolute favorite. I have used them for my egg sandwiches for breakfast and just tonight made them into a pizza crust to enjoy pizza with the rest of my family. Keep doing what your doing, great job and God Bless!!

This is so awesome i just made tortillas out of cauliflower and they turned out great! Can't wait to try this! Thank you so much!
Wow this looks so good!!! So keen to try, I am very new to cooking, so please forgive this dumb question - what does broil mean?

Ta
Can you use broccoli instead of cauliflower? I would think that the consistency of the vegetable is similar so it should actually work, right?! Has anybody experience?

I haven't! You're welcome to and I'd love to know the results! I feel like broccoli is a bit different in texture than cauliflower especially when cooked
Awesome cauliflower bun recipe. I side my food processor and blended until dough like. Substituted almond and coconut flour for ground chia and flax seed blend. Dough was a little runny but baked flattened patties on parchment paper. Came out great. No guilt buns.
